Perfecting Prolotherapy since the ’90s

“Prolo” is short for Proliferate, this term means to get bigger or regenerate the tissues. This is the effect Prolotherapy Injections have on tissues. The primary ingredient in Prolotherapy injections used at Advanced Rejuvenation is dextrose.  The dextrose triggers an influx of inflammatory cells, initiating the wound-healing system to the specific area. When a stronger inflammatory reaction is desired, additional natural ingredients can be used in dextrose-based injections. These can include mineral additives, such as zinc or manganese. Another common Prolotherapy additive is hypertonic saline, which increases the inflammatory effect. Lastly, certain hormones, including human growth hormone or testosterone, can help trigger localized repair of damaged tissue.

We have been using Prolotherapy at Advanced Rejuvenation since the late 1990s, with great success. Generally, 3-6 treatments are necessary for many conditions and more may be needed for more severe cases. Many times, we will choose to use Platelet Rich Plasma Injections, or PRP, because there is a greater regenerative effect and fewer injections are usually needed. PRP also has scaffolding called fibrin, which is contained in your plasma. This can be further processed in what we call a honey matrix, for an even stronger grafting effect.
